This Friday, April 25, 2025, on the occasion of World Malaria Day, Hôpital Bon Sauveur de Cange welcomed over 150 people who came to mobilize against a disease that continues to wreak havoc in our communities.
Organized by the community health department, the day was marked by a series of concrete actions. Health professionals led educational sessions to explain how malaria is transmitted, the signs to recognize and essential preventive actions. Using simple, accessible language, they reminded us that understanding the disease remains one of the first weapons in the fight against it.

At the same time, a team from the laboratory provided free screening, offering everyone the chance to find out their status without charge or complicated formalities. This immediate service enabled rapid diagnoses to be made and, for some, treatment to begin without delay.
To reinforce community protection, impregnated mosquito nets were distributed in large numbers. This simple but decisive gesture will enable many families to protect themselves effectively against mosquito bites, the main vector of the disease.
At Hôpital Bon Sauveur de Cange, the fight against malaria is a daily task, rooted in proximity, listening and action. Every awareness-raising event, every screening, every mosquito net distributed is part of a collective effort with a clear objective: to reduce cases of malaria and save lives.
For several years, Zanmi Lasante has been working alongside communities to roll back the disease. Not with grand speeches, but with concrete, visible action on the ground.

The theme of this year’s World Day; “Malaria ends with us: reinvest, reimagine, reignite” finds a particular echo here. For it is indeed through everyone’s involvement, and by renewing our commitment on a daily basis, that we can build a future where malaria is no longer a fatality.
Every contribution strengthens our fight against malaria. Make a donation to protect more lives.
