Ophelia Dahl

Ophelia Dahl co-founded Partners In Health (PIH), a global non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality healthcare to the poor. The story of PIH, from its origins in the rural Central Plateau of Haiti, where Ms. Dahl met PIH co-founder Paul Farmer over thirty years ago, to its expansion into ten countries on four continents and a global movement for the human right to health, was recently chronicled in the feature documentary “Bending the Arc”. Ms. Dahl led the PIH as Executive Director for 16 years and now chairs its Board of Directors. She continues to write, teach and speak about the health and rights of the poor, moral imagination and accompaniment.
Mrs. Dahl is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Wellesley College, her alma mater. Ms. Dahl has received the Radcliffe Medal, the Union Medal from Union Theological Seminary and, along with her HSP colleagues, the Hilton Humanitarian Award. She lives in Cambridge, MA, with her family.
