At the Thomas J. White Pavilion Club at Bon Sauveur de Cange Hospital, young orphans and vulnerable children carry burdens that few people their age should have to bear. Some live with HIV, others grow up in families deeply affected by the disease. All share the need for support, connection and hope.
That’s why the infectiology department organized a recreational and wellness day at La Hoye.

The day combined knowledge and good humor. A session on sexual health helped young people better understand the importance of responsibility, consent and respect. A presentation on sexually transmitted infections demystified the subject and emphasized prevention as well as seeking early care.
In a striking workshop, participants were invited to reflect on self-esteem and mental health, discovering how confidence can be a strength in the face of life’s trials.
Between sessions, games, laughter, a shared meal and even swimming brought the group closer together. The atmosphere remained safe, inclusive and joyful.
For these 27 young participants, it was more than just an outing, but a reminder that they are not alone, that they matter and that their future can be brighter.
At Zanmi Lasante, we know that caring for youth means investing in both health and hope. With your support, we can continue to create spaces where vulnerable children feel safe, valued and inspired.
